Diabetes Research & Education in Endocrinology and Metabolism Trust
The purpose of the trust (Dreem) is to create awareness among people about the importance of early diagnosis, proper monitoring and treatment of Diabetes and Hormonal disorders.The trust utilizes the grants from the sponsors of the meeting for this purpose in a transparent way. The trust does not seek any donations. The trust has plans to start charity clinics, conduct Diabetes awarness camp for poor people.
History
In 2012, Dr. Arpandev Bhattacharyya along with Dr. Ganpathy Bantwal and Dr. Vageesh Ayyar S, all, Professors of Endocrinology, formed a group in order to spread knowledge about Diabetes and Hormonal disorders among practising doctors, patients and their families. Several workshops and meetings were conducted which received positive feedback. Encouraged by the feedback, the group, in 2016 decided to form a trust (Dreem) which would dedicate more time, effort and resources for these activities.
